June 29th, Sat – Unofficial Annual Whitewater Rafting Trip
Location: Near Buena Vista at the rafting company's location; details on time and directions will follow those who have booked. Contact: dale.peterson@alumni.stanford.edu
The Brown’s Canyon 16-mile full-day trip is one of the most popular adventures offered by the River Runners company. River Runners has been leading trips for over 50 years. The trip is suitable for everyone from first-timers to seasoned rafters. It starts with easy whitewater, giving beginners enough experience in the first part of the trip so they can enjoy the larger rapids later. There is a professional guide in every raft. We break for lunch in a wooded setting.
Our group has a discounted price, which includes all gear and lunch. The cost is $114.25 per person, discounted from the $170 that companies typically charge for this trip. Please book by June 15th. This helps the company prepare for the group size, though the company may accept bookings after that date. If you are a vegetarian or have special dietary requirements, please advise River Runners when you book. To book, please do both of the following:
Contact River Runners directly via phone at 719-395-2466 or via email at https://www.adventurecentral.com/user/web/m/wfJoinGroup.aspx?CLUID=7a730889-0f99-448d-b206-a9673d8bba68&GID=3761. Tell them you are with Dale’s group; the discount will be applied during the booking process.
RSVP to Dale at: dale.peterson@alumni.stanford.edu
Those of us who are interested will have dinner afterwards at a local restaurant and enjoy the nearby hot springs. All are welcome, whether single or married, Church member or friend of another or no faith, etc.
